Lavender Sauce

Lavender, a flower so lovely, who would have thought its flavor would be so delicate, as well?

3/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp edible lavender flowers, dried

Put water and sugar in a pot on low to moderate heat. Stir to dissolve. Slowly bring to a simmer. Remove from heat and add flowers. Cover and let sit 30 minutes (40 minutes if using fresh flowers).

After steeping, string to remove the flowers. Add 10 oz fresh blueberries and 2 tsp lemon juice.

Serve over pound cake.
